John T. Lotardo, aka ‘THE TITLEMAN”, is Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Stewart Title & Trust of Phoenix Inc.. 

As a licensed  attorney, Mr. Lotardo's practice entails all aspects of real estate and civil litigation. Mr. Lotardo has been an active member of literally dozens of real estate related organizations including the State Bar of Arizona, as well as bankruptcy, lending, foreclosure, legislative, and corporate organizations nationwide. 

He has been editor for the Real Property Journal for the State Bar of Arizona, and author of numerous columns including the popular “Ask the TITLEMAN”, which can be found in print throughout the United States as well as on the Internet. He is frequent speaker, instructor, and guest commentator. 

Mr. Lotardo received his Bachelor of Arts with honors and academic distinction from C.W. Post, Long Island University and his Juris Doctorate degree from Arizona State University.

January 30, 2006 - I have been named to the top 25 "Who's Who" of the Phoenix legal community by The Business Journal's Leading Lawyers program.

October 2005 - I have been elected the Chair for the Arts and Culture Commission for the City of Phoenix. I am honored to have this opportunity. This elected position has me presiding over the affairs of the Commission for the coming year. In addition to creating a balanced forum for the diverse activities of the Commission,  I will also be representing the Commission, when appropriate, with both City and State Officials.

September 2005 -- I have been appointed by Janet Napolitano, Governor of the State of Arizona, to the Arizona Electronic Recording Commission. This appointment, which is a two-year term, allows me the opportunity to work with others in the field to help standardize the use of electronic recording in transactions throughout the state. I am honored to be on the Commission and look forward to the work ahead.
